I had initially been on the cliffs in the far distance of this photograph, looking for a decent sunset. Though I found a pleasing enough scene, the sun dropped down behind cloud quite early and the resulting soft light just wasn't suitable, so I packed up and headed back to the car. Long after sunset I drove down to the coast and was drawn to the large sand ripples on Rocquaine Bay. The fading light was refelcting its deep colours in the surrounding still water as I was able to shoot a few frames before night set in. A good reminder that it's often wise to stick around long after sunset.
